The Danny Rumph Classic is a charity basketball tournament that attracts some of the best talent in the Philadelphia area to compete to raise money in honor of the late Danny Rumph, who passed away suddenly from hypertrophic cardiomyopathy in 2005.
Now in its eighth year, the Rumph Classic brings crowds for five days strong to Arcadia University in Glenside to see NBA and international professionals–as well as local favorites–battle it out for Philadelphia-area bragging rights on the hardwood.
The 2013 installment of the Rumph Classic championship game found Philly-centric Team F.O.E., led by the Morris twins, Markieff and Marcus, who both played at Kansas University and now play for the Phoenix Suns, taking on JT Ballas, a team captained by Jason Thompson of the Sacramento Kings.
